The FlagLab has received a grant to do research on the fern genus Parablechnum! This is a very exciting milestone for me following the kind invitation of Carmen Prada and Sonia Molino to enter the fern world and expand the studies on the Blechnaceae at Universidad Complutense. During the next three years we will do field work, collect specimens, culture gametophytes from spores, and address the phylogeny of the genus using target capture. If you are looking for a lab to apply for a FPU grant or other Ph.D. funding opportunities, you are welcome to contact me. The same applies if you are an undergrad student at Universidad Complutense and you want to gain some research experience.
