Two new Funariaceae-related publications are out! The first one, led by Nikisha Patel, is the latest result of the results obtained from the analysis of the Hyb-Seq data of our moss selection, including the samples with a high degree of paralogy that were not analyzed in previous publications. We show that hybridization is very frequent within the Entosthodon-Physcomitrium complex, with multiple taxa being of allopollyploid origin. The paper has been published in Evolution.

Our colleague, Li Zhang, leads the second paper, published in Taxon. Morphological and molecular evidence shows that Brachymeniopsis gymnostoma is the same taxon as Clavitheca poeltii and we propose the combination of both names within the genus Entosthodon, hence acknowledging this Himalayan endemic as E. gymnostomus.
