Our lab had a strong presence at the XX International Botanical Congress held in Madrid from July 21–27, showcasing our research with a total of nine contributions, including oral presentations and posters. Topics ranged from phylogenomic approaches to cryptic speciation in mosses, the global biogeography of ferns, and the taxonomic challenges in bryophytes, to innovative studies on liverworts, mosses, and ferns utilizing integrative and molecular techniques. Highlights included oral presentations by lab members on the taxonomy of the Funariaceae, the global disjunction in Parablechnum, and the diversity of Dumortiera hirsuta. Posters covered phylogenetic insights into the genus Breutelia, palynological studies of Parablechnum, and molecular variability in Physcomitrium pyriforme. These were some unforgettable (and exhausting) days!
